Adult Education
We offer several options for Adult Education. Click the pages on the sidebar to learn more about each program or click the Registration page to register for classes.
- ABE (Adult Basic Education) is for adults with or without a high school diploma who want to improve their English and math skills up to the 9th grade level.
- ASE (Adult Secondary Education) is for adults with or without a high school diploma who want to improve English and math skills to the college level.
- ESL (English as a Second Language) is for adults who speak a language other than English and who want to improve their English language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. ESL levels overlap ABE levels, and registrants may be placed in the most appropriate program.
- HSC or HSD (High School Completion or Diploma) is for adults who want to earn a high school diploma by completing classes. Graduation requirements follow the Michigan Merit Curriculum guidelines. ABE classes may be required prior to enrollment in HSC/HSD classes.
- HSE (High School Equivalency) is for adults who want to earn a High School Equivalency certificate by taking and passing a HiSET or GED test. ABE classes may be required prior to enrollment in HSE classes.
- HiSET testing is available on-site. Test dates are limited.
